On Tuesday November 25th 39 members of the Watrous Seniors Recreation Club boarded a Southland Coach and headed to Saskatoon. The first stop was the Festival of Trees at the Western Development Museum. Trees of all shapes and sizes were tastefully decorated by volunteers to be sold to the public. It was a very colorful and beautiful display. Proceeds of the sale go to the City Hospital Foundation. Members also were able to view the Gingerbread display, as well as the permanent parts of the Museum displays. Then off to supper at Smitty’s in Market Mall. The restaurant served a good meal at a reasonable price. The service was excellent. Enchanted Forest, here we come! The drive through displays were excellent. Very colorful and thought provoking. The Forestry Farm and the City Hospital Foundation, along with BHP Billiton potash mine put together an excellent display. Proceeds from this drive through are split between the Forestry Farm and City Hospital Foundation. The group then headed back to Watrous arriving home at 9:00 pm, under the able ability of driver Jack Gibney of Southland Bus.
